Check your lifting
With the Lifting Check guide, you can check whether you are lifting in a way that is damaging to your health at your workplace.
An animated character guides you through eight steps with questions such as “How much does what you are lifting weigh” and “Do you bend your back when you lift?” Finally, you will be presented with a result that indicates whether or not your lifting is damaging to your health. At the same time, you will be informed about how often you strain your body and what possibilities there are for improving the lift so that it is less stressful.
When you have completed all of the steps in the Lifting Check guide it is possible to go back and change your answers. In this way you can see what can be changed to improve lifting work.
A tool for dialogue
The Lifting Check guide is not a complete guide that gives unambiguous answers on whether or not the lifts you perform are damaging to health. Therefore, the Lifting Check guide cannot replace the specific assessment conducted in companies. But the guide can be used as a tool for seeing whether you are at risk of overburdening your body, and as a starting point for dialogue - both internally in the company and between the company and Arbejdstilsynet, the Danish Working Environment Authority.
Developed by Arbejdstilsynet and the NRCWE
The Lifting Check guide was developed by the Danish Working Environment Authority in cooperation with the Danish National Research Centre for Working Environment (NRCWE). The Lifting Check guide is therefore based on professional working environment knowledge about heavy lifting, which has been built up by the Danish Working Environment Authority and the NRCWE.
